Okay, I heard the summary of the new "The day the Earth Stood Still" a few months ago, and almost cried. The remake would take the classic science fiction move about war and man's responsibility to himself and the idea of life in general, and turn it into an environmental platform.
yeah... not one I was in any hurry to see.
Well, judging by the early reviews from IMDB.com I think a lot of people have decided that this remake is pretty lackluster. I don't know that they would agree or disagree with me on my political opinions, but the idea that the movie is getting roasted by public and crucial opinion just sits well with me.
---And for the record, I am a conservationalist, not an environmentalists. I want their to be an earth for us and our children, but I do not think that "climate change" and "destruction of mankind" are synomous expressions.
Okay, this one isn't the best review, but hay, its done by a writer, not a professional TV host.
